DistroKid: Revenue & Royalty Reports Guide

Overview

DistroKid provides itemized sales and streaming financial data directly through the DistroKid Bank. Because DistroKid handles high volume across many individual stores and DSPs, report generation changes automatically based on total catalog sales volume.

Prerequisites & Account Access

  • Account Tiers: Musician, Musician Plus, and Ultimate/Label plans.
  • Required Roles: Account Owner (or primary profile login credentials with payout/Bank tab authorization).

How to Download Revenue Reports

1.Navigate to the Bank Page:Account Access.

Sign in to your DistroKid Account and click Bank from the top header navigation bar (or navigate directly to [distrokid.com/bank](https://distrokid.com/bank)).

2.Expand Detailed Statements:View Full Detail.

Scroll down to the bottom of the Bank section and click the button labeled “SEE EXCRUCIATING DETAIL”.

3.Generate & Download Report:Export Request.

Locate the DISPLAY label on the upper right-hand side of the detailed table and click the Download icon/button next to it:

  • Under 50,000 records: The file will process immediately and download directly through your browser.
  • Over 50,000 records: A filtering modal will open. Select specific parameters (date range, stores, artists, or releases) and click “Let’s do it” to request background generation.

4.Retrieve Large Files (if applicable):Priority Retrieval.

For queued requests, open the email notification sent by DistroKid or head directly to distrokid.com/bank/priority to download your processed file.

Troubleshooting & Common Issues

  • Opening TSV Files in Excel: DistroKid exports files in TSV format by default. If double-clicking the file opens a plain text document, open Excel first and use File > Open or Data > Get Data (From Text/CSV) to parse the file into standard tabular columns.
  • Missing Direct Download Link: If your account has more than 50,000 statement records, clicking “Download” will not start an instant download. You must run a filtered request and retrieve the completed file from the Priority Bank queue link ([distrokid.com/bank/priority](https://distrokid.com/bank/priority)).
  • Expired Priority Downloads: Generated download links expire after 7 days. If a link expires, re-apply your filters under “SEE EXCRUCIATING DETAIL” to queue a new export.
  • Earnings vs. Live Stats: Live stream counts displayed under the Stats tab reflect daily trend activity and will not align immediately with payout numbers in the Bank tab until DSP financial statements are posted.
